"But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness." -Psalm 86:15
It's February, the Month of Love.
As we go through this month, it's easy to get distracted by our earthly desires.
You might be hoping for the perfect Valentine this year but you're single yet again, or maybe you're going through a completely different struggle. Either way you've been left feeling lonely, insecure, and hopeless.
The good news is no matter what you are going through - there is HOPE. And that hope comes from the maker of the stars who created you to be unique and special. (Psalm 139:13-14)
God's love for you is SO great that He sacrificed his only son so that you may have eternal life. He has a plan for you that is greater than you can even imagine.
We want to tell you about one of our artisans who lives out God's mission for her life by relying on his love to guide her path every day...
Meet Violette Clermond. Violette is the Manager of Ila Joi in Haiti. She has been the manager since 2013.
Violette and her husband have been married for four years and together they have one son. After 5 months of marriage, Violette's husband lost his job, making Violette the sole provider for the family. Violette said making jewelry is her passion and, "Ila Joi is our only hope after God."
We think Violette's struggle and triumph are great examples of faith, hope and love. These three things are what will get us through our trials and tribulations here on Earth.
This month we challenge you to put your focus on the abundant blessings surrounding you, rather than reflecting on what you don't have.
Focus on appreciating the beauty and love that shows up in your daily life - whether it's "just the little things" or BIG things. We can change the world by going out of our way to show God's love to others.
Mention #Ilajoi and tag us in a photo to show us an example of something you are grateful for. Our prayer is that this will encourage your friends to give thanks for their blessings, too!
You won't hear Violette complain that her husband is without a job; instead, she chooses to praise God for always providing for her family.
"Our Savior Jesus in heaven, I worship your name with all my heart. I ask you to bless all my friends, my family and our customers. Thank you for taking care of me again and again. Bless Chances for Children and make all their dreams come true. I pray in no other name, than the name of Jesus. Amen."
You can make a difference this month by purchasing one of the hand-crafted pieces of jewelry made by Violette or one of our other artisans.
Once you receive your purchase, you can write the artisan who made your gift a sweet note of prayer and encouragement! How's THAT for a Valentine?!
